I bought an older house ( 1940 ) and it has all wooden kitchen cabinets. The people who owned the house had put their stove top directly below a low hanging cabinet with NO hood or vent above it! All of the steam / smoke from cooking went straight up and absorbed into the cabinet. It smells like some sort of rancid onion when I open the doors.

Can anyone recommend a way to remove the odor from the cabinet?
