Help! I have a lower kitchen cabinet w/an inset shelf that I want 2 remove. Is the shelf a support 2 the unit?

This is a below-counter cabinet. The single shelf is non-adjustable as it has been recessed into grooves on either side of the inside cabinet walls. I was going to cut it out in order to remove it but someone suggested it might be a support to the overall cabinet itself. Does anyone know anything about this? Will my cabinet fall apart if I cut out the shelf?

cut it out without cutting counter top support .cover area cut out with thin plywood or paneling. stay away from particle board if it gets wet it’s ruined. You will loose a little space but it will work

yes you can remove it, be careful not to damage walls, take a reciprocating saw, cut thru the middle, push down and pull out
