How do you remove rust from chromed kitchen cabinet hinges?

We tried steel wool -but it just knocked off the high spots. I’m going to try Brasso this afternoon. Any other suggestions?

There is a product called CLR it works great on rust. pull off the hinges and soak them int the product for while.
