What are the pros and cons of having a kitchen remodel inspected and permited by the city? I live in Long Beach, CA.

      They will use that to justify raising your property taxes.

      It is alway smart to have an inspection by the city just to make sure you get the quality of work that you paid for.

      the pros are that you will know that you will be getting exactly what you paid for(no shabby work), and that it will be safe and up to code,otherwise a year down the line you will not have a fire or water leak, plus the city cannot come in and say hey this is wrong and that is wrong so you will have to rip it all out and do it right, plus it adds value to your home if you decide to sell. cons it will cost you between 250 to 700 dollars, and your taxes may go up a bit. good luck
