I would suggest wood tops (properly sealed these are very practical - we have them), cupboards might look nice in a teal green, back splash could be stainless steel or teal green tiles.

This depends on your budget. I’ve heard marble tops are expensive and not the best if you have kids because they require more upkeep. There is also a stone/concrete kind that holds up very well to wear and tear, is much less expensive, and comes in many neutral colors as well as a “fake marble looking pattern. Grey or sand color would be the most neutral and would blend well no matter what color the room was. You may even be able to paint your cupboards before totally giving up on them. White is a popular color right now but I would never choose white because fingerprints show up so much easier on them (I have kids) Natural stained wood cupboads seem more classy and less trendy than an all white. Also consider changing the knobs and fixtures on your cupboards and drawers or if you know a carpenter they could cut a square out in the middle top portion of two cupboard doors and place glass or plexiglass within the opening to make the doors appear as if they had windows within them. This is a nice way to dress up the kitchen if you have nice china or dishwear to show off behind it. Get lots of samples and even experiment with different colors for your wall. Deep mustard yellow is also a nice color on kitchen walls if you prefer yellow.

You could use white cabinets so your appliances will blend in for a continuous look or a maple. You have the option of purchasing a wooden panel for your refrigerator and dishwasher if your budget allows.
For a counter top, try to use granite if you can afford it. If not, choose a granite looking Formica. If you have an island, you could just use granite there. Choose a neutral color in the tan, brown or black family. Granite is very durable, but you still must use a granite cleaner regularly and a polish occasionally. All will look great with the yellow walls and will not limit you if you decide to change the paint color in the future.
