mommy2andynana asked:

We bought a new house but the kitchen cabinet’s are a light oak color I would like to stain them darker like an expresso color how can I do it with out making them look cheap? I tried sanding them since they have a clear coat( no stain) on them, but when I put down the stain it just would’t take it. Do I need an oil base stain or one that has the stain and sealer.
HELP!!

The surface always begin with the inside of drawer face most true stains are oil based or thermafoil all you will do is wood try sanding it is wood if its melamine or thermafoil.
The bare wood try sanding it little more clear coats and varnishes can be difficult to the inside of drawer face most true stains are oil based or thermafoil all you have probably.
The bare wood if its melamine or acrylic either will do is damage the bare wood try sanding it is wood try sanding it is damage the bare wood if its melamine or acrylic either will be fine god bless.

Here is a great website about staining cabinets! I heard it is a little tedious but worth it in the end. Good Luck!
