      1. That is all your opinion, but I have heard of granite staining before, but never of quartz staining.

      2. You can put it over your range without cabinets, but you will still want to enclose it as that might look pretty silly just sitting up there. Personally, I wouldn’t put the microwave over the range if you have the space… I would rather have an exhaust fan over my range… but if you don’t really cook much, and only want to renovate for the value in house increase, then feel free. If you decide to have an exhaust over the range instead, place the microwave either on the counter, or mount it in the upper cabinets area somewhere else in the kitchen. But with a 13 by 7 kitchen (very similar to mine actually) you prob don’t have the cabinet room to waste, so your best bet might be to actually have it over the range. But it’s all preference of taste.

I recently installed a quartz countertop in my house. It has the beauty of granite but does not need to be sealed every year like granite. It has the added benefit of anti-microbial properties built into the material.

I would try to avoid putting the microwave above the range if possible. It will quickly become sticky with the residue of cooking byproducts in this position. If you don’t have a good alternative, make sure you get one with a built in exhaust fan.

I don’t really have an opinion on Wolf vs. Viking.

Judging by your preference for Wolf and Viking, I will assume you are going High end on all your selections. If you are doing the entire kitchen, I am talking floors, cabinets, counters, sink & faucets, and all appliances, you will spend between 25 and 30 K. Good luck!
